Play is how a young child shows what is on their mind
For children 3 to 6 who cannot yet say how they feel, and the adults who want to understand them.
Carmen uses child-centered play therapy, a method taught in trainings from the Association for Play Therapy. The room is set with sand, blocks, puppets, a dollhouse and art supplies. The child chooses, and Carmen follows.

Three questions about this service
Does my child have to talk?
No. Many children say little at first. Carmen follows the play, and talking comes when and if the child wants it.
Will I see what happened in the room?
You hear what Carmen saw, in plain words, at the end of each visit. She keeps the details of the play private to the child.
Can a parent stay in the room?
For some children, a parent stays for the first visits. Carmen decides with you what helps your child feel at ease.
